Project Output and results indicators

The objectives outlined in the project proposal in terms of project output and results were largely exceeded. A total of 20 scientific papers have been published during the project duration. From these, 13 papers have been published in high level peer reviewed international journals, 3 papers as book chapters and 2 in international conference proceedings.

The PhD dissertation of the project researcher Pedro Silveira entitled “Ship collision risk assessment based on AIS data and expert opinions” has been concluded and presented in March 2021 and the project researcher Hao Rong will be submitting his PhD dissertation by the end of 2022. Moreover, 8 Master thesis have been conducted during the project execution.

The 20 scientific papers published by the project are all aligned with the priority lines “Safe and sustainable transport”, “Intelligent maritime transport” and “ICT applied to the sea” of the National Strategy for Smart Specialization and under the line “Integrated information management systems for the compilation of the maritime picture”, which is a strategic priority at the regional level of Lisbon of the domain “Mobility and Transport”.
